What Bluetooth means to you.

What does Bluetooth mean to us today?
To better understand the meaning of Bluetooth lets look at it for minute. Bluetooth is a fairly new technology. It was officially introduced in 1998, and a group called SIG was also introduced to the public. SIG is a group of leaders that are in the Telecommunications, network, computing, industrial automation and the automotive industries. They are responsible for encouraging and supporting research and development in the field of Bluetooth Technology. What that all means to us is that these guys make sure that our cell phones and all the hands free devices that use Bluetooth Technology keep getting better and better. That's all good for us, because we don't have to worry about it.
So what is Bluetooth technology?
Well, it is the ability to unite together different industries like cell phones, automotive, and computing. Bluetooth technology is wireless, it simplifies and combines more that one form of wireless communication into a single, secure, low-power, low-cost, radio frequency available around the world. That means that the headsets, speakerphones, and carkits that we use today have the ability to connect to each other and to our computers and and some of them can connect to multiple units.
How does it work?
Bluetooth is a Protocol, that is a language. What Bluetooth's goal is is to create a universal language that all devices that are wireless will use. Before Bluetooth any wireless company could write their own Protocol for their own devices. That means one  company's wireless devices could not communicate with another company's wireless device. Today that means that if the device has Bluetooth capability it will communicate with any other device with Bluetooth capability. Regardless of the Manufactures name. If your cellphone is a Nokia, you can have a Jawbone headset. Its that simple.
Take advantage of this technology on your way to becoming a more safer driver.
