Safety First

Our childrens safety is one of the most important issues that we deal with on a daily basis or a least it is always in the forefront of our thoughts. It starts at a very young age when we start teaching things like “the stove is hot”, it continues as they get older with lessons like “don’t talk to strangers”, and “look both ways when you cross the street”.  In this day and age of cell phones in most homes when our kids reach middle school or somewhere in that age group we get them a cell phone to stay connected when they are away from us.  So let me ask you this. How is it that when our kids reach 16 years old we let them get a drivers license and armed with their cell phones and sometimes not the greatest ability to make the best choices send them into the world of  Life and Death decisions, that being the roadways of America.  There is a solution to this, which helps our young people be safer drivers and lowers the risk of teenage traffic accidents. Put a  Bluetooth speakerphone in their car, when properly set up there are speakerphones that will not only let your child make and take phone calls but they can send and receive texts by voice and do not have to touch the phone to do it.  Visit gohandsfreeusa.com to find a great selection of Bluetooth hands free devices at competitive prices, and we offer free shipping.

WHAT is a BLUETOOTH SPEAKERPHONE?

A Bluetooth speakerphone (also Bluetooth Portable car kit) is hands-free cells phone device that attaches to a car visor, pairing with your Bluetooth enabled cell phone to provide higher quality speakerphone. Most cell phones have a Speakerphone built in, but the quality is not always to good and you are not hands free when using this function on your cell phone.
In many states within the U.S. it is now illegal to use a cell phone when driving unless it can be used with a hands-free device. If you only want hands free capability when in your car the Bluetooth Speakerphone is the product you will want to consider. The nice thing about a Bluetooth speakerphone is that is does not need to be worn and should provide superior audio quality.

The speakerphone attaches to the car visor with clips and is battery powered with the ability to be recharged by an adapter that fits into the cigarette lighter. The microphone might be built-in or external, extending on a short arm from the speakerphone. The device features basic function buttons for answering calls, ending calls, redialing and adjusting speaker volume. Other features are available such as streaming music and text to speech, as long as your cell phone supports those features. Bluetooth technology utilizes radio waves to link the devices together without need of wires or cables. Once the speakerphone has been paired with the cell phone, incoming calls can be answered by using the function buttons on the Bluetooth speakerphone.
You’ll still need to use the keys on the cell phone to place a call, unless redialing or if your cell phone and the speakerphone both support voice commands, a feature becoming more and more popular in light of the hands free laws.  Some speakerphones archive the last several calls received, allowing one to scroll through them by using a dual-mode function button. A model like this might also have a small LED screen that displays the caller’s phone number. To save power, LED Screens commonly only light for a few moments.
Many Bluetooth speakerphones are made with echo-canceling technology that improves sound quality, A must in any brand Speakerphone that you purchase, potentially making the call clearer than if using the cell phone itself. WHAT is a BLUETOOTH HEADSET?

You've all seen them, those things hooked to people's ears that make them look like they just walked out of a Si- Fi movie. When we see people walking down the street, apparently talking to themselves, sometimes in a rather animated way, it might not be a mental issue, they could be talking on a Bluetooth Headset.
A Bluetooth headset is a wireless device that connects one to cell phones, PCs, laptops, digital cameras, printers and even video game consoles. It has worldwide range capabilities and a short-range radio frequency. The distance a Bluetooth headset can pick calls is about 33 feet from the power source, mainly your cell phone. There are some exceptions to the rule when it comes to the Office Headsets. As most of them have a booster built in that lets them range up to 1000 feet depending on the model. The Bluetooth headset device also uses a radio communications system, and as long as the signal can be picked up, so can you. Understand, that in order to make a Bluetooth headset work, Bluetooth headset must be compatible with the device with which you wish to communicate.  As new Bluetooth Protocols are written and implemented compatibility is becoming less and less of an issue.
One of the most positive aspects of Bluetooth headset capability is that it allows hands-free use. Especially with new laws on the books regarding people driving with cell phones, a Bluetooth headset offers a safe alternative, and yet allows necessary communication between parties or hardware. A Bluetooth headset also allows users to transfer data from the headset to a destination such as a palm pilot as well. The younger groups will appreciate the fact that a Bluetooth headset can control gaming consoles such as Play station 3, Nintendo, and new Wii technologies.
Bluetooth technology isn't limited to the Bluetooth headset. It's also found in just about any newer types of electronic and computer equipment being made.  Bluetooth technology is more user friendly today than when it was first introduced to the public around 1998. Major companies such as Intel, Nokia, Sony and IBM have all taken advantage of Bluetooth technology and developed products and services to support it.  You can purchase a Bluetooth Headset at gohandsfreeusa.com

Bluetooth and the Young Driver

Parents, here are some scary facts that you should know about as you are about to send your young driver out into the world:• 16-year-olds have higher crash rates than drivers of any other age. It is estimated that 16-year-olds are 3 times more likely to die in a motor vehicle crash than the average of all drivers.• $40.8 billion was the estimated economic impact of auto accidents involving 15-20 year old drivers.• Most car accidents are entirely preventable. Drivers are most likely distracted, tired or possibly drunk. The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration reports that most drivers engage in activities that take their attention away from the road. These activities include:
Talking with other passengers: 81%
Playing with the radio or CD: 68%
Eating or drinking: 49%
Using a cell phone: 25%• More than 3,800 young drivers age 15-20 are killed every year in traffic crashes. • More than 326,000 young drivers are injured.• Young drivers are involved in fatal traffic crashes at over twice the rate as the rest of the population. • The number one cause of death for 15-20 year olds is car collisions.• In 2004, 7,386 people were killed in crashes involving young drivers ages 16-20 • The 16-year-old population alone will increase from 3.5 million to over 4 million by 2010.  More kids higher Stats.                                     That's probably enough information to get my point across. That is, we owe it to our young driver to help them be as safe as they can be. One way we can do this is to put a Bluetooth hands free device in their car. The one that I would recommend is the Bluetooth Speakerphone. There are models on the market to day that once set up will come on as soon as they get into the car. It will also send and read Text Messages by voice.  And all cellphone functions are voice controlled. No more holding a phone while driving. As Parents lets do our part to make the driving experience as safe as we can. Don't kid yourself by thinking " I told him-her not to use the phone while driving" They are kids, not bad kids just kids. Decision making is not their strong suit yet. WE need to help them out, put the Bluetooth Handsfree Device in their car.

Does Bluetooth = Safer Roads

To see if the use of Bluetooth technology makes our roads a safer place to drive we first have to look at some statistics on driving with out a Bluetooth hands free device. In the US over half the drivers poled said they talked on their cell phones while driving. The figure is probably closer to 85%. That is a staggering number of drivers. Stats show that young drivers are more likely to text than talk on the phone while driving, this means that the group of drivers with the highest accident rate are being more distracted than ever. 7 out of 10 admit to texting while driving. Business men are more likely to talk on the phone will driving. Over all if you talk on the phone while driving you are 3 times more likely to have an accident.
So how does a handsfree device make our roads safer?  In order to use a cell phone you have to hold it to your ear and that takes one hand. One less for steering the car. To make a phone call you have to dial, that takes one hand and you have to look at the phone to do this. Now you are not even looking at the ;road. Texting  you not only have to hold the phone but you have to look at it each time you send a text or receive a text. The time not looking at the road just went up astronomically.

You can own a Bluetooth device, a headset a speakerphone or a car kit that completely frees up your hands and eyes for doing what they are supposed to do when driving, that's steering the car and watching the road. Anyone of these devices can be bought with features that allow you to answer calls send calls and receive and send text messages using only your voice. So if you want to become a safer driver look into getting a Bluetooth hands free device now.

Bluetooth Technology is not going to disappear any time soon. As can be seen by the number of new products that are arriving all the time. Companies like Nokia, Sony and Microsoft work tirelessly to find new ways to use this technology. There are Market reports that state that there will be over 100 new products developed because of this technology. It seems that the potential of Bluetooth technology is limitless. It started out as a short range form of communication that allowed Bluetooth headsets to connect to cell phones. It has already evolved into the computer world. Bluetooth is very popular in both the private and professional sectors giving this technology a very wide range of fields to be implemented into. Bluetooth technology is expected to have a large impact on a number of industries in the future. We already see it in the Communication, Computer, Automotive, and Automation Industries.
